Flatware Chests User Preperation
Wash hands with a little soap, thouroughly rinse, and dry.
Do not use hand lotion when handling silver for storage as it may contain certain chemicals that could contaminate anti tarnish lining causing it to lose it's ability to neutralize airborne sulfur.

Silverware Preperation for Flatware Storage Chests
Only store silver after it is clean, dry, and cool.
Hand Wash: Use mild dishwashing liquid. Dry silver completely with a soft cloth-like flannel.
Dishwasher: Rinse food off of the silver. Place in dishwasher and do not let sterling and stainless pieces touch. Use slightly less detergent than recommended that do not contain chlorides(lemon scent). Remove before dry cycle and hand-dry with the soft cloth.

Always try to keep boxes closed. While some have used these boxes for displaying silver, they should be kept close when not being shown or used. Use a damp cloth if outside of box needs to be cleaned. Avoid using wood cleaners on box. The environment inside the chest will last a lifetime of regular use with care.
